Nepal
Nepal’s textile traditions stretch from the Kathmandu Valley to hill communities and the Himalayan highlands. Pashmina shawls draw attention to fine goat-undercoat fibres, softness and the skill of their makers.
Palpali Dhaka, associated with Palpa in western Nepal, carries intricate geometric patterning. Allo, or Himalayan nettle cloth, introduces a different material character. This chapter creates a place for Nepal’s textile expertise, independent labels and makers to share their work.
